We Care Group provides dementia care in both a residential and nursing setting. Each of our homes that support people living with dementia is uniquely designed to make residents feel comfortable in their homes. Corridors are filled with photos and murals to evoke fond memories from the past as well as memorabilia to encourage stimulation. Colours are used throughout the home to create positive associations and trigger the right response to a situation and the food and menus are designed to cater specifically for residents with dementia.
Between Breakfast and Lunch, we offer mid-morning cake and coffee. This is the latest available inspection report for this service, carried out on 2nd February 2008. – there are some services which we can’t rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. If not, there are several good GP practices nearby where some of our residents are registered. We encourage residents to give us feedback on the food at the regular Residents’ meetings. You can make a complaint to the manager of the home, the registered manager will follow this through accordingly. Residents are encouraged to participate in activities & interact with other residents, but resident’s preferences are always respected.
Facilities
All the bedrooms are spacious and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to make them feel more at home. It has a lovely garden and patio area which is particularly popular with residents in warmer weather.
Our teams are trained to support bariatric residents with their mobility, provide the right type of care to meet individual needs , as well as supporting bariatric residents with their daily tasks. Our chef teams make sure dietary requirements and plans are followed whilst also being considerate to any preferences our bariatric residents may have. – the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service. It had up to 10 touchpoints, which means two residents and one carer simultaneously can use it. All our staff re-train every year in dementia to keep our knowledge up to date to ensure we provide the best care. Our cooks work on alternate days preparing and providing meals to our residents 3 times a day to meet each individual’s dietary needs. Lunch is finished with delicious desserts, all prepared on-site by our chef teams. I am very happy with how my mum is treated – with good care, respect and dignity. I am so grateful for the hard work and dedication of all the staff.
